The story

Cortexa started in 2025 when founder Amay Makhija noticed a gap in the therapy practice market: clinicians had plenty of EHR options, but practice owners had almost nothing to help them understand the health of their business.

Revenue was scattered across spreadsheets. Caseload data lived inside EHRs that weren't designed for business analytics. And visibility — whether clients could actually find the practice — was a complete black box.

So we built what practice owners were asking for: a single dashboard that connects to the EHRs they already use (SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, TheraNest) and turns clinical data into business insights. No more exporting CSV files. No more guessing.
